The e-Commerce craze continues to spread across the world. Many traditional industries have started to explore sales channels for its e-Commerce more actively. In this journal, plenty of successful cases that received the “incentive and subsidy plan for industrial development in Taipei City” may include “Türk Kızları”. Such case puts in a lot of effort in its e-Commerce platform service and product improvement for its content through project implementation. “Türk Kızları” cultivates designers to design cultural and creative products, offers internship opportunities and employability for students from the Department of Turkish, and expects them to become e-Commerce leaders in Turkey. It offers extensive and in-depth content information for the consumers to read. A second case is “Mr. Good”. It connects farmers and fishermen, processing factories, restaurants, cooking studios and consumers to come up with a R&D plan so that it can comply with the feature of quality agriculture and support the production of sustainable agriculture as well as the industrial value chain for manufacturing and marketing. It helps the farmers and fishermen who are less familiar with the production and marketing end to do the processing and packaging work and sell their agricultural products. It sets up an exclusive procedure to handle perishable foods, shortening the route from the place of origin to the dining table. It increases the value of agricultural products for its added value.

The central government and respective local governments are introducing various incentives for people starting their own business. Private incubation centers, venture accelerators, shared workspaces, and maker spaces are mushrooming, too. For a new company, however, how to make their innovative brand known by others is important and is something they must accomplish. The author suggests that they may take advantage of the international market, a venture agent, various venture competitions and events and the Go Incubation Board for Startup and Acceleration Firms as four major ways to create a higher-level brand. New companies in Taiwan are able to light up their own brand utilizing various strategies. Therefore, they glow in Taiwan and are in the spotlight on the international stage. What is more important is that they can transform their brand image into value on the capital market in order to gain sufficient fuels that keep the fire of innovation going!

Encouraging youth to start their own business is one of the priorities of the Taipei City Government in its administration for the future. There is one-stop venture service available as part of the venture cluster that the government tries to create to proactively integrate and manage existing spaces pending utilization throughout Taipei and continue integrating central or private incubation centers or shared workspaces while planning a venture exchange platform for business starters. The venue and public equipment at the innovation base are at their disposal. The hope is to build Taipei into a city friendly for young people wishing to start their own business and fulfill their dream. The “StartUP@Taipei” statistics show that there are 26 incubation centers, 32 investment institutes, 29 shared workspaces, and 11 maker spaces available at present at the venture base in Taipei, including Taipei Co-Space, Garage+, Custard Cream, and Changee workspace . The hope is that through each venture space proactively created to help realize dreams business starters can find one another more easily.

MasterCard Worldwide released the “Asia Pacific Destinations Index 2015” in February 2016. Taipei ranked 11th with 6.4 million tourists. By the mean length of stay of international tourists, it was 6.6 days in Taipei, second only to 9.1 days in Bali, securing second place in the Asia Pacific Region and demonstrating that the abundant and diversified tourism resources in Taipei successfully attract tourists to stay longer for an in-depth visit. As far as the amount of money international tourists spend, Taipei ranked 7th, with the annual total amount of money spent by visitors reaching USD 9.5 billion and it was named by MasterCard to be one of the benchmark cities for tourist dollars.

According to the latest “Asia-Pacific Cities of the Future 2015/16” released by fDi Intelligence under the Financial Times, Taipei secured 3rd place in the final ranking and broke its own record by defeating another 3 competitors as compared to the previous year. Taipei also won the 2nd and 4th places in terms of economic growth potential and friendly business environment. In addition, up to 24,280 patents were registered between 2010 and 2014, pushing Taipei to become the 3rd highest city of all in the survey. Innovative talent has been proactively coming to Taiwan around the world. As far as the population is concerned, Taipei is a medium-sized city with 2.5 to 5 million residents but tops the list of counterparts in terms of the overall ranking, its economic growth potential and friendly business environment. All the strengths make Taipei an optimal destination for quite a few investors.
Creative City’s Competitiveness Leads Taipei City to Grow Steadily

In the “Innovative Cities Index” released by 2Thinknow on December 2015, Taipei City ranked higher and higher annually since it became one of the Top 100 cities in 2011. In 2015, Taipei rose to the 52th from the 87th slot last year and was nominated as the fastest city with an upgrade by 2Thinkknow. Although the average score is 49 to rank as a first level hub city, Taipei took the lead in the 5th place within its level. It failed the competition for the 1st level core city by just 1 point. On the other hand, if carefully observed among the Asia cities, Taipei City ranked the 9th, which is the top city in the ranking of hub cities. Its competitive potential is worthy of expectations.
